US Trip: What we could bring to Thailand

In terms of environmental issue, Permaculture should be promoted in Thailand. It fits the sustainable living idea. We think that it would help farmers in rural areas to live sustainably and being productive.

For urban lifestyle in Bangkok, we would love to apply the rooftop gardening idea here. It would help us to have more greenspace to relax our eyesight. We will also have more plants to absorb pollution and produce more oxygen for us.

The rain harvesting is also great to be adopted here because we have a rainy season. It's such waste of water to le it go down the drain and be polluted. We could use the rain to do a lot more to save the water, our precious resource.

For the entrepreneurial mindset. We see that it is hard for someone to start a business from a scratch. We would like to be the new generation that creates new culture, new beliefs for people. We would like to be the group of people that support and inspire others to be courageous to do something that creates value to the society.

Knowledge, financial support and government policies can be factors to make these a bit more difficult than we thought. But actually there is nothing we cannot do. We just need to get into action and do it.

US Trip: What we wish we could be

We wish we could have freedom in our mind about our ideas. Everyday we live with limitations, but after the trip, we feel that we should not limit ourselves. It is time to get started. All the guest speakers are great role models for us in terms of doing something they want to do and make it works. They inspires us to break from the framework of the society of what we can or cannot do. Finally, we need to find our passion and get going, or we would end up being like the rest of the society which we actually feel unhappy inside to be like them.

But Thai culture is unsupportive for someone to be different. We will have to struggle along the way. Parents also will not let us do something we want, just because they are afraid that we would fail. Failure is hard to face. Fianancial issue is another factor that does not allow us to do something big. Since we do not have angel investor in Thailand, dream big without money could end up being just a dream.

Though there are obstacles in the way for us to just jump to where we want to be, still the trip has already changed something inside each of us which will eventually lead us there. Society, parents and money can be a big challenge, but one day we will get through all of these and be the change maker.

US Trip: What could be better

We would like to see more innovation that is not related to advanced technology. We believe that we can be innovative in many other ways but most of the people tend to think it is related.

We are interested in permaculture ideas so much that we would like to have hands on experience but it was too bad that we only listened to the guest speakers without seeing the real site.

Moreover, we wish we could have more time to speak with the guest speakers after they have finished. They shared so many great things but we had so little time together.

US Trip: What we like

Starting from the Silicon Valley, we like the entrepreneurship mindset of the people we met. All of them seem to have a courage to start doing things they believe in. The environment and culture there also support everyone to start something new. People can have a start-up company from nothing (not really nothing, they have good ideas as a foundation). There are angel investors and venture capitalists to support people with great ideas whereas in Asia, it is harder to do something from a scratch, the business is more likely to be a family business. We like how they are not afraid to fail in doing things. The valley also give people chances to get back up again.

During our visit at Stanford University, the facilities are quite different from what we have in most Thai universities. They have a building that provides rooms and tools for brainstorming and prototyping. We think it is another factor that promotes the innovative spirits of people.

With Bryan Weller, mindmapping and speed reading skills we learned are very useful for our work and study. loads of readings are not so scary anymore.

At Green MBA, we have learned that being successful in business is not everything, but how our business can grow while not being harmful to the environment is important and even more, how our businees save the environment so we can all live in a sustainble society.

"The trip is very inspiratonal for us to start thinking about what we want to do, how we can do it and the most important thing is that we must get started in whatever we want to do. Eventually, the only person holding us back from success could be us."

Crafting Opportunity

As an entrepreneur. . .

Education:
If education is your area of interest, then you might want to add the environmental-based program to the children learning process. Children can learn easily, so it is a good opportunity to set the mind of children to see the importance of saving water for the future.

Products & Services:
If you are an innovator, we encourage you to come up with products or services that will be a tool for humanity to save water. Most of us are aware of the importance of water and how scarce it is, but we just have no clue how can we do better than what we are doing.

  • What if someone provide us tools to able us to save the water better?
  • What if we can clean our body, dishes, car without using water?
  • What if we have great household water system to recycle our water?
  • What about a tool indicating how much water we are using and how much it costs us and environment? . . .

"If you know how to create one of these things or have a better idea, GO FOR IT!!"

Marketing Campaign:
Another way we can save water is to spread the words out. Send the massage to the public about saving water.

As an ENTREPRENEUR, you can help everyone to make a SMART CHOICE!

Opportunity Statement
